pita pizza

Last night, dinner totally hit the spot!  I made a mini pizza out of wheat pita, fat free pizza sauce, low fat mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.  It was so good, just what I was craving and super easy.  

First, I spread some pizza sauce on one piece of whole wheat pitta bread.  I spiced it up a bit by adding some oregano, garlic and salt and salt and pepper.
 I then added the mozzarella cheese and the fresh basil.  I popped it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes (until the cheese was melting and the pita was a tad crunchy)
 (I'm so excited about my new fresh basil plant!)

Once the pizza was cooking, I started on the veggies.  I sauteed some onions, green pepper, carrots, broccoli and garlic.  I added a little olive oil to the mix as well.
I checked on the pizza once the veggies were just about done, and the pizza was just about done as well.
I placed the veggies and the pizza on a plate and enjoyed with a glass of wine and The Bachelor. : )
